As we continue to see incredible medical breakthroughs, one must also remember, none of this only happens in a lab.. . .each innovation will have significant impact on individuals, families, communities and socieity as a whole. How we prepare for and deal with that impact is vitally important!

  1. Among all the top ten medical breakthroughs of 2010, I am most fascinated with the blood test that is used to detect Alzheimer’s disease (AD). After witnessing firsthand the devastating effects of Alzheimer’s I vehemently believe this is an issue that cannot go unseen. With this new advancement we are making progress in looking at the ravages of AD. Making an accurate diagnosis and treating Alzheimer’s disease is essential, as treatment not only benefits the patient but may also relieve the stress and burden on family members of other caregivers.
